McKEN, Donald Bruce (1937-2014) - promoted to the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, July 31st, 2014 in his 78th year.  Faithful and loving husband of Jean McKen (nee Hubbard) of Simcoe for 57 years.  Loving father and grandfather of the late Donna Vanderkooy (2004), her children Daniel & Allison;  Douglas McKen (Nancy) of Simcoe, their children Matthew & Jamie-Lynne; and Nancy Lynn McKen of Simcoe.  Don will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Bob (Cathy) of Paris, Bill (the late Arlene 2014) of Calgary, the late Merle Nesbitt (2004) and by several nieces, nephews and extended family.  Don was predeceased by his parents Duncan and Bertha McKen and by his step-mother Alice McKen.  Don worked along side his late father Duncan and son Douglas for over 50 years at McKen Radiator LTD. He served as pastor for 17 years at the Harbour Ministries in Port Dover.  Don served as an elder at Evergreen Heights Christian Fellowship for many years. Don faithfully served his Lord through various ministries sharing his faith.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Don with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Monday, August 4th, 2014 from 1-4 p.m.  Don’s home going service will be held at the Emmanuel Bible Church, 24 Churchill Circle, Simcoe on Tuesday morning at 11:00 with Pastors Don Craw & Raymond Thompson officiating.  Interment at a later date.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Don are asked to consider the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation, the Community Care Access Center or Harbour Ministries through Evergreen Heights Christian Fellowship.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199   “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”  Psalm 116:15
