MATTHEWS, Evelyn Airth (nee Biggs) – passed away at the St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 in her 89th year.  Beloved wife of the late Norman Matthews (2017).  Loving mother of the late David Matthews (2016), Susan Matthews, Robert Matthews, Jill Egan and proud grandmother to six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Evelyn graduated from Kingston General Hospital as a registered nurse in 1951 and finished her career working as an airline stewardess with Trans Canada Airlines.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Evelyn with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Friday, April 27th, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Mullin officiating.  Private family interment of ashes:  Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of Evelyn are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
