RICHARDS, Shirley Jane (nee Laidlaw) – surrounded by family at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Friday, December 8th, 2017 in her 84th year.  Much beloved wife of the late Elmo Richards (2009) and cherished mother of Bryan Richards (Kimeva) of Sundale, Saskatchewan, and the late Alan Richards (2017). Greatly appreciated as the creative and loving grandmother of Erika, Kahla, Brock, Tatiana, and Nicole.  Shirley Jane will be lovingly remembered by her brother in law Denny (Carolyn), her siblings, Dorene Awde (late Dr. Chuck), their children Chris, Rob (Lori) & Rome;  and the late Dorothy Butler (late Tom), their children, the late Joanne, Wayne (Debi) & Rory (Pam) and their children, most especially great niece Renee (David), who were both a great comfort to the very end.   She will be especially missed by her very close friends and surrogate family, the Engelhardt’s, Betty (the late Flory), Brendalee and Lisa (David), and their families. Shirley Jane and family lived in Simcoe for 60 plus years, and her style and presence was well known by many from her 25 years in real estate and later career in retail at Currie's and My Top Drawer.
