MACDONALD, John Douglas “Doug” – peacefully passed away, surrounded by his loving family, at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Friday, July 7th, 2017 in his 76th year.  Beloved husband of 50 years to Mary Anne MacDonald (nee Preston).  Loving father of Jay MacDonald (Tania) of Simcoe.  Cherished “Papa” to his grandchildren Carter and Jordyn.  Dear brother of Ruth Long (late Dennis) of Hamilton; Mary Jane MacDonald, James MacDonald (Donna), Paul MacDonald and Scott MacDonald, all of Simcoe.  Dear brother-in-law of Paul Cross and Barb Preston of Simcoe.  Predeceased by his sister Pat Cross, and brothers-in-law Bill Preston, Fred Maxwell (late Norma).  Also surviving are several nieces & nephews.  Doug will be remembered as a huge supporter, umpire, coach & player of local and provincial sports teams.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Doug with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Tuesday, July 11th, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
