REIDY, Edward Jerome (1936 - 2016) – surrounded by his loving family at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 in his 81st year.  Cherished husband of Leona Reidy (nee Vanhoed) of Simcoe.  Loving father and grandfather of Michael Reidy (Julie Kenny) of Bellwood, their children Aedan, Elise & Katherine;  Tom Reidy (Marilyn) of Bornholm, their children Samantha, Greg & Daniel;  and Jeanne Wilhelmus (Dr. Dan) of Walsh, their children Anna, Kate & Karl.  Ed was predeceased by his father, David Reidy (1958), his mother Angela Nicholson (1989) and by brothers Thomas (1994) & Maurice (2002).  Friends are invited to share their memories of Ed with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  Parish prayers will be said Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 211 Union St. Simcoe (the corner of Queen & Union St.) on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Al Dufraimont as celebrant.  Casket interment:  Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Mitchell, Ontario.  Following the interment, a celebration of Ed’s life will be held in the St. Vincent de Paul Church Parish Centre with refreshment being served.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Ed are asked to consider the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com  (519) 426-0199
