DE JONG, Jeannette Patricia “Jan” (nee Sargeant) 1944 - 2016 – passed away at the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton on Monday, June 20th, 2016 at the age of 72.  Beloved wife of Jake De Jong of Simcoe.  Cherished daughter of Mitzi Sargeant (late Jack) of Waterloo.  Loving mother & grandmother of Stephen Perry of Toronto, his children Destinee & Dylan.  Jan will be sadly missed by her sister Linda Hacker (Karl) of Waterloo.  Lovingly remembered by Jake’s family, his son Eric MacLean of Brantford and by brothers Dennis (Riet) & Edward (Maryke) and by many nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by her sister Evelyn Davies (late Colin).  Jeannette served as a Justice of the Peace in the Province of Ontario for many years.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Jan with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Saturday, June 25th, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Visitation will also be held from the GREENS OF RENTON GOLF CLUB, 969 Concession 14 Townsend Twp., Simcoe on Sunday morning from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with public reflections being shared during that time.  A private interment of ashes will take place at a later date.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Jan are asked to consider the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
